Rafael De La Grana is a founding member of Jurney & De La Grana, P.A. and specializes in all aspects of civil litigation, including personal injury, wrongful death, insurance first party claims, and appeals. Prior to founding Jurney & De La Grana, P.A., Mr. De La Grana spent years representing and defending insurance companies. Because of this, Mr. De La Grana is acutely aware of what it takes to successfully litigate against insurance companies.
Originally from Los Angeles California, Rafael De La Grana received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Florida International University in 2008. Rafael received his Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law. While at St. Thomas, Rafael was actively involved in the St. Thomas Moot Court team, where he competed and coached in several national competitions, and served as the Executive Vice President of the Moot Court Board. While in Law School Rafael also interned for the Honorable Judge Juan Ramirez, Jr., then Chief Judge of the Third District Court of Appeal.
After graduation, Rafael returned briefly to the Third District Court of Appeal, where he interned for the Honorable Judge Ivan Fernandez. Following his time at the Third DCA, Rafael was a Special Assistant Public Defender in Miami-Dade County.
Rafael went on to work at several insurance defense firms where he handled cases involving bad faith disputes, civil litigation, personal injury matters, and appeals. Rafael’s appellate experience includes authoring appellate briefs at the District Court level as well as to the Florida Supreme Court.
